Some People Never Really Grow Up

“Some People Never Really Grow-up”

How is it so many people never really grow-up?

How many of us are really mature, stable (staid) cosmopolitan human beings? How many of us are vindictive or recriminatory – all of which is prompted by immaturity, a poor self-image and ignorance? Most of us – one way or another – use others as “sustenance”:

Blacks often elevate themselves over Latino’s.

Latino’s elevate themselves over Blacks.

Whites elevate themselves over everyone else.

Many Muslims do not like Christians or Jews.

Antisemitism is rampant.

And – yes, there are those who are cosmopolitan – who have a good self-image, who are enlightened and self-aware. Gandhi, mother Teresa and Martin Luther King Jr. were such individuals.

No matter where you look – people are angry – marriages are dysfunctional and short-lived.

So how do we build a healthy perception in people?

Knowledge is a fine beginning. Knowledge is power. Knowledge leads to “self-actualization” and an equanimous disposition or mentality.

Sorry atheists and agnostics – but when individuals strive to emulate Jesus Christ, Buddha, Mohammad and Confucius – with honesty, integrity, love, and forgiveness – anger, bigotry, hate is effectively neutralized.

Love and forgiveness is far more powerful and healing than hatred and animus. So do the unthinkable – extend your hand to your enemy.

Forgive those who persecute you.

Love your neighbor.

Turn the other cheek.

Do unto others and let God be the judge.

It will make you a kinder, gentler person. It will aid you in personal growth as a human being.

It is a good deal easier to traverse the obstacle course of life – as a protagonist rather than that of a protagonist.
