TERRORISM

So? Whom do terrorists really hurt and why?
So why are the average (all too often struggling) American’s the target of such uncontrolled vitriol or animus by vendetta driven terrorists? We, like “you”, as members of the proletariat, do not dictate political, ideological or military policies in our country of origin – nor around the world for that matter. Past conquests which includes colonialism, hegemonic and imperialistic objectives and or capitalistic endeavors motivated due to ideological expansionism, globalization and with the ad hoc intent of gleaning excessive profits at the expense of agglomerative diseconomies (the environmental degradation and the decline of the well being of its workforce) is not even remotely within the purview or the responsibility of the great majority of the American populace.
Despite the fact that we are citizens within a country that boasts its enviable position as the worlds greatest representative democratic republic – we as a people are not even vaguely responsible for the behavior of international corporations. We have no say regarding past coercion or intervention regarding sovereign polities. The great majority of us abhor political change through violence – particularly brutality that targets innocent people who are simply attempting to eek-out a subsistence. Hate, mindless brutality carried-out through terrorist acts who target
Essentially defenseless innocent people does not bring about political, social or economic change. The true or honest result of terrorism is that it effectuates or evokes more hatred and greater violence – all of which is self-perpetuating. The truth as i see it – is that we, as a people, have lost our once enviable high standard of living; we have had our cars and trucks repossessed, our personal possessions lost; and our cherished houses foreclosed upon; our dignity has been trampled upon and the lives of our children have been severely hampered and or disrupted.
We, the American people, are predominantly advocates of a free pluralistic (heterogeneous) society that boasts an eclectic theological and ideological mix of Muslims, Jews, Buddhists, Christians and yes, even atheists and agnostics – who live side by side coexisting in relative peace. Yet concomitantly – we are not feckless cowards who intend to standby idly as we’re bullied by those who are unfortunately plagued by odious poverty, illiteracy, and political and economic digression. We, as Americans, desire peace but will defend ourselves with a preternatural fanaticism. We seek global harmony and the political, social, religious and economic evolution of our neighbors – but we will safeguard our right to sovereignty and in particular our legacy to be bequeathed to our precious children. We believe that we must not stultify, marginalize or demonize one
Another. We know that we must be empathetic – seeing life through the eyes of even those who seek our annihilation – all of which must be understood in a cultural, religious and historical context. And you must somehow perceive the American people simply as individuals who are guilty of but one single transgression or infraction – that of having been born in a country that (like many European and Asian countries) already had in place a history, a reputation and a policy of intervening in the affairs of sovereign governments – and yes – with the genuine goal of bringing about representative democratic republics who embrace capitalistic ideology. Right, wrong or perhaps arrogant – Americas global intention was and is to give a voice to the downtrodden and repressed – to create an environmental and social condition in which those blessed with a very strong work ethic, god-given afflatus and a knack to bring about ingenuity and innovation – have an opportunity that will permit them to thrive. Americas intention – both past and present is to hasten an economic niche for corporate extrusion into societies that are willing to embrace such a cultural imposition – with the implicit supposition or inference that the presence of such a corporate entity (such as McDonald) – ensconced in a country such as France – cannot succeed nor even survive without the critical encouragement and support by the french consumer. America has given everyone who possesses the appetite – big mac’s, ivory soap and sophisticated
Computer software. America has endeavored to grant a voice to the cowed, and tyrannized – – an opportunity to embrace democratic ideals – to free their women from cultural bondage and servitude – to elevate themselves from sewage saturated streets and polluted drinking water; America shines as a beacon of hope for a world replete with impecuniosity, illiteracy, animus and civil unrest. America is far from perfect – but it is an essentially well meaning – very well intentioned. The metastasis of hate must end. We must endeavor to find common ground – to recognize that we are each victims of circumstance. (no one chooses his or her country of origin or lineage). We must empathize and humanize one another. We must learn to work together to implement change peacefully — we must, above all — please god.
