THE TRUTH

The sad truth
No, I’m not attempting to create an adversarial relationship – a “them” or “us” attitude; we do indeed need one another. All I’m attempting to convey is that if we expect one another (especially those of us afflicted with indolence and apathy or indifference – who go through life as irresponsible adults) to take responsibility for our actions – then those who have benefited the most from the economic, social and environmental damage in America – should at least make an effort to rectify these crippling problems.

Who – should i dare inquire – has “benefited substantially” from our environmental degradation – the pollution of land, air and water contamination and toxic waste sites – the birth defects and the high rates of cancer and death that have resulted, as well as the dissolution of the middle class or populace? Who has depleted much of our resources, marred the land, destroyed the ecosystems , deforestation, disintegrated residential and commercial structures that disfigure the face of barrio’s and slums and the significant reduction of the low income wage earner?

(You demand that “we” take responsibility for our actions and irresponsibility; what about “you”
Taking responsibility for “yours”?)

You broke it. You fix it.
