Thank God I’m on Med’s…”

I’ve been thinking very thoughtfully about my mental illness and all I can say is – thank God I’m on chemotherapy! It has made me fat, impotent, miserable and I’m still allegedly psychotic. Millions of persons psychopaths, sociopaths, incorrigible(s), incarcerated in prisons, addicts, miscreants, liars and thieves – many of whom are free – raising hell, raping and pillaging.

(Yes, thank God I’m on medication)

Sex offenders by the hundreds of thousands free to roam the streets – most of whom are a threat to the weal of society.

Computer hackers, compulsive gamblers, compulsive eaters – millions of persons who are morbidly obese. There are porn. Addicts, sex addicts, fetishists, anorexics and bolemics – those with anxiety disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder, those suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder –

The homeless and disenfranchised by the millions – sleeping in doorways, alleys and trash dumpsters – millions of more NORMAL INDIVIDUALS – who simply are comprised of iconoclasts, anomics, anti-socials, free spirits – those who simply don’t want to work a 9 to 5.

Then there are , soldiers – bakers, painters, janitors, carpenters and auto mechanics – WHO ARE FORCED TO KILL THE BAD GUY – TO “BLOW AWAY HUMAN BEINGS – AND TO RETURN TO THEIR CIVILIAN VOCATIONS – YES, TO BE “NORMAL” AGAIN.

Religious monomaniacs – some of whom transmogrify into Terrorists (by the ten’s of thousands) – many still being recruited – Martyrs who engage in Jihad – ironically to please GOD.

Boy am I glad I’m on Med’s – I could be dangerous!

And this entire mess is overshadowed by an entire galaxy of normal persons; Yes, “they” choose to treat themselves as royalty – to live the life of a sybarite. (Yes, we’ve traveled this route again and again) After-all – that is what life is all about – acquiring stuff and living the life of a hedonist. If “I” (personally) helped out and kicked-in – it would be equivalent to pissing on a forest fire. Yes, babies die prematurely due to starvation and disease and I dine on lobster and caviar; It’s not my problem. It’s every man for himself. Besides – God approves of my lifestyle. I deserve it. I earned it. And a century or two down the road ( if we haven’t self-annihilated) it will be greed and not altruism which has kept us afloat.

Yes, this is a “normal attitude”. And these are “normal” individuals. (And I can assure you that many persons who peruse this concise essay have already characterized me as a Socialist – or worse – a Communist. Nonsense!)

Please forgive my evident arrogance – however – merely decades from now – I believe we’ll see a world that is rife with chaos, civil strife, warfare that will sadly include exchanges involving nuclear weapons. We will encounter terrorists who will utilize every weapon known to man and they will achieve their goals of taking innocent human life indiscriminately and evoking terror in the hearts of their so called ideological adversaries. They will also inevitably bring about World War Three and the premeditated demise of millions of innocent helpless women and children of all faiths – to include the inadvertent deaths of ten’s of millions of innocent peace-loving Muslims. Yes, you can come to the very same conclusion having read the book of “Revelation” in the New Testament. ( It doesn’t take a prophet to envision this obscene scenario.)

Where do we go from here? Do we accept this fate – as we impatiently anticipate the second coming of Jesus Christ – or – do we attempt to idealistically bring about peace and prosperity to a world that has gone mad?

We can and must do everything within our power to avoid internecine warfare.

We must communicate. We must stop dehumanizing one another. We must stop the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and the metastasis of hate —NOW!

Atheist or theist, Muslim, Christian or Jew, Democrat, Republican or Independent, Capitalist, Communist or Socialist – rich, middle class or those (such as myself) living in poverty — black, white, yellow, brown – gay, bi-sexual or heterosexual, scientist, scholar or high school dropout…

WE ARE IN THIS THING TOGETHER AND WE MUST

LEARN TO PULL TOGETHER AS MEMBERS OF THE

VERY SAME FAMILY.

WE CAN MAINTAIN THE STATUS-QUO AND EVERYONE WILL LOSE EVERYTHING.

– OR –

WE CAN MERGE OUR MONETARY, INTELLECTUAL, MILITARY AND TECHNOLOGICAL RESOURCES TO AID IN THE PROGRESSION OF THE GLOBAL COMMUNITY. WE CAN PULL TOGETHER TO EXPLORE THE VAST UNIVERSE – TO CONQUER FAMINE AND DISEASE – ILLITERACY – THE ARRANT VIOLATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS…

WE CAN MAINTAIN THE STATUS-QUO AND EVERYONE WILL LOSE EVERYTHING.

YES, YOU’RE RIGHT – I HAVE TRULY LOST MY MIND.
