“Sesquipedalian”
No, the use of BIG WORDS don’t necessarily make good writing – nor are the use of BIG WORDS a reflection of an expanded or superior intellect. But most people who are “sharp” – over the decades acquire a lexicon that is befitting a bright mind.
(But when you attempt to “entice” the writer’s Rep. – who are all too often writer manque’s – using words that make them feel small or ignorant – you merely antagonize them.) Yes, I’m unpublished as a writer and as such a failure as a human being – and – of course – as a writer. I’m living in poverty – but I’m happy and/or contented. However — should anyone enter this domain on the internet and vet or peruse my manifesto’s and essays – should I accomplish the goal of altering merely a single opinion — well — in my myopic view — I’m serving my intended purpose.
My hope is to inspire debate – it’s not to acquire stuff; It’s to reach the obscurantist; To over time – alter society – using a slow, incremental “gradualistic” approach — however – I do need some underwear.
