Rule of Law

Yes, we are a civilized society – we embrace laws – codification that regulates nearly all sexual behavior. We have criminalized prostitution and we have laws that are designed to protect the rights of the accused, the recidivist, members of organized crime – that all too often infringe and/or supplant the rights of the tax-paying, law-abiding citizen.

We are a civilized, sophisticated society yet we protect or safeguard freedom for the (guilty) rich procured at the expense of the integrity of our ennobled legal profession. Yes – to be evinced another way – we have attorneys motivated by greed (profit) and not truth and justice.

We have abortion – the premeditated (legal) slaughter and or “dis-assembly” of the unborn child (absent anesthetic) and in the name of women’s reproductive rights.

We face internecine war and we possess lots and lots of hydrogen bombs.

Yes, we are a civilized society because we even prosecute (even persecute) those who do not submit to societies perception of “sexual propriety”.

We all too often disregard the prophylactic approach and we vie for short-term savings at the expense of long-term catastrophic financial, economic and social repercussions.

We – all too often rule and legislate in the complete absence of scientific data and the crucial participatory role of scientific research. We are legalistic at the expense of the scientific community. Yet we are indeed a sophisticated and civilized people.

We censor free speech – particularly when it involves those who espouse there opinions using expletives. However, “hate speech” is “free speech” – and advocating the destruction, denigration and outmigration of a particular ethnic, religious or racial group is perceived as distasteful – yet permissible.

Yes, we routinely display gratuitous sanguine violence (with a PG rating) with the liberal (easy) access by or to young, impressionable children – yet dare “they” display a beautiful female buttocks or a perky set of mammae and you will raise the dander (and I suppose the membrum virile) on those saddled with a puritanical ethos. (yes, we are a civilized, sophisticated society.)

We are for equal rights – for everyone, yet we not only condone – but we advocate reverse discrimination. We have deliberately lowered standards for women to permit their entry into law enforcement, as fire crews and among military cadres. We have – in the name of racial equality and under the guise of human rights – lowered the benchmark and in professions where a state of erudition is an essential component for the treatment of illnesses and for the maintenance of human life.

We all too often choose acquisitions over altruism.

We embrace opulence over philanthropy.

We are a civilized people.

“We” advocate a particular religion even as we express God’s love, compassion and forgiveness and the right to choose — even as we issue an ultimatum

Submit and acquiesce — or be tortured for all of eternity.

Yes – most persons possess all of the answers – even at the expense of science, truth and justice — at the cost of peace and harmony — and for those of us who believe in a beneficence higher power — at or with the sacrifice and deterrent regarding a personal relationship with GOD.

No – we’re not animals – what separates us from the animal kingdom is that “they” usually kill for survival — we however as civilized human beings – kill for sport and recreation and often in the name of truth and justice — for women’s reproductive rights and for — well – just good clean fun.

We are indeed a civilized people.
